Have you ever watched a virtual race in person? Sounds like a bit of a dichotomy doesn’t it?
On Wednesday evening as part of iceBike* 2019, Madison is hosting round five of the Zwift KISS Super League with Madison Genesis riders racing online against other pro-teams. A surreal yet exhilarating spectacle is in store for guests that are staying on to celebrate Lazer’s 100th Birthday after the show on Wednesday.
As it stands Madison Genesis are enjoying some real success in the innovative new online racing series. After taking the win on stage one courtesy of Ian Bibby and following up with a one-two (Jon Mould and Ian Bibby respectively) on stage three, the team are currently sitting top of the leader board. With the riders performing well and seemingly at home in digital surroundings, it promises to be a seriously exciting night of bike racing!
Racing will take centre stage as part of the Wednesday evening entertainment alongside the official opening of the Shimano Technical Service Centre and Lazer’s birthday celebrations. In a clash of cultures there will be a Japanese-style sake ceremony as well as Belgian beer and food.
